We got a request recently from a repeat customer for a rather wild wedding gift. When he submitted the picture we asked, “Seriously?..”
And he was serious. The photo was taken by his friend when she was doing primate rescue work. This was her favorite photo from that time and he thought it would make a really special wedding gift for her, so we were happy to oblige.
He really only needed some photo restoration so that the image could be printed on canvas a little larger-than-life, and Christopher (yes, the orangutan’s name is Christopher) could retain all his natural beauty. So our artist did some color balancing to bring out the red in Christopher’s hair, and some touch-up to the photo as a whole to smooth some of the graininess and soften the photo overall. The results were subtle, yet sensational!
It was an exciting departure from dog portraits and cat portraits and our first venture into the wild! We’d love to do more, so if you know anybody who has a pet tiger, or their own elephant, be sure and tell them about Pop Art Pet! :)
